Prospero Teaching are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Provisions to join a well‑established Alternative Provision/PRU in Ipswich from September. This is a full‑time, permanent leadership opportunity for someone passionate about transforming outcomes for young people who require additional behavioural, emotional, or educational support.

The successful candidate will lead the provision, oversee staff, ensure high‑quality teaching and learning, and help shape a supportive, structured environment where students can re‑engage with education. This role requires resilience, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by pupils outside mainstream schooling.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven leadership experience within an Alternative Provision, PRU, or similar setting
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and SEMH needs
  • Recent experience in a UK educational environment
  • Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable)
Eligibility
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child‑related references
