Are you a dynamic and passionate MFL teacher ready to lead a dynamic department? Are you excited by the opportunity to shape language learning across Key Stages 3 to 5 and inspire a love for languages to young people?
We are seeking an outstanding Head of Modern Foreign Languages to join our thriving and supportive secondary school in Braintree. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to lead and develop our MFL provision, with a key focus on driving excellence in teaching and learning across the department.
About the Role:
Lead and manage the MFL department (currently offering French and Spanish).
Oversee curriculum development and implementation across KS3-KS5.
Support and develop staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and high expectations.
Monitor and track student progress, ensuring excellent outcomes for all learners.
Promote cultural awareness and global citizenship through innovative teaching and extracurricular opportunities.
We are looking for someone who:
Is an experienced and enthusiastic MFL teacher with a proven track record of strong classroom practice.
Has experience (or a strong readiness) to take on leadership responsibility.
Is committed to raising student achievement and developing a passion for languages.
Brings energy, vision, and a positive, proactive approach to department leadership.
