We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a young boy in Year 7 with brain injury, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and anxiety. This is a full-time position within a welcoming secondary school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport Support: Safely pick up the student from home and drop him off after school (a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential).
- Classroom Support: Assist the student with his learning across subjects, ensuring he remains engaged and supported throughout the school day.
- Emotional and Behavioural Support: Help manage anxiety and SEMH needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning experience.
- Individualised Assistance: Adapt learning materials and provide tailored strategies to meet his specific needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to implement support plans and monitor progress.
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly SEMH and anxiety.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and positive relationships.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
