Prospero Teaching is looking for warm, patient, and committed Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join a caring and nurturing specialist school in Winchester, supporting pupils aged 4-11 with a broad range of learning, communication, and physical needs. The school offers an exceptional environment designed to help every child thrive. Pupils benefit from high-quality facilities, including a hydrotherapy pool, spacious outdoor learning areas, and excellent IT resources that enhance accessibility and engagement. A strong therapeutic team works on site, providing Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy, Art Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy, ensuring each child receives holistic, tailored support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with diverse learning, communication, sensory, and physical needs
  • Assisting with structured lessons, therapeutic activities, and adapted learning tasks
  • Helping children develop communication skills, emotional regulation, and social interaction
  • Encouraging engagement through the use of specialist facilities, including outdoor areas and the hydrotherapy pool
  • Promoting wellbeing, safety, and positive participation throughout the school day
  • Providing support with mobility, personal care, and independence where required (training provided)
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff to deliver consistent, child-centred care

Contract Details

  • Location: Winchester
  • Position: Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - SEND
  • Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Working Pattern: 08:50 - 15:20
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract Type: Long-term, full-time, with potential for temp-to-perm
  • Pay Rate: From £14 per hour

Requirements

  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Enhanced child-barred list DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Professional references covering the last 24 months
  • Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education, health & social care, or relevant SEND experience
