A welcoming, child-centred Primary Inclusion Centre in Portsmouth is looking for a compassionate and resilient SEN / SEMH Behaviour Support Mentor to join their team as soon as possible. The centre supports primary-aged pupils who present with social, emotional and mental health needs, anxiety, and barriers to learning within mainstream settings.
This is a role where you become a consistent, trusted adult for children who need stability, patience, and understanding. Your presence helps them feel safe, regulated, and ready to learn.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting primary pupils with SEMH needs, anxiety and behavioural challenges
- Using trauma-informed, child-centred approaches
- Helping children regulate emotions and develop confidence
- Encouraging engagement in learning through patience and consistency
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the inclusion team
What We're Looking For
- A warm, empathetic and flexible approach
- Experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH or communication needs (advantageous)
- Strong relationship-building and behaviour-support skills
- A genuine commitment to helping children succeed - even on their toughest days
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
