Prospero's client school is offering a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist SEMH secondary provision supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, many of whom respond positively to structure, movement and trusted relationships.
About the Provision
This specialist SEMH setting supports pupils who benefit from a calm, relational and highly structured environment. Pupils may present with SEMH needs, communication differences, autism and associated behavioural challenges. The provision focuses on personalised development through:
- One-to-one and small-group mentoring
- Sports-based engagement and physical activity
- Emotional regulation and wellbeing support
- Consistent routines and trusted relationships
Your Role
As an SEMH Sports Coach, you will:
- Support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Deliver and assist with sports, PE and physical activity sessions
- Use sport to build confidence, resilience and engagement
- Help manage behaviour with empathy, consistency and clear boundaries
- Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils and staff
- Encourage personal growth, emotional regulation and positive routines
This role suits sports coaches, psychology graduates, PE specialists, youth workers and individuals with lived experience of SEMH.
