Secondary Maths and Science Tutor - Halton Location: Halton, Cheshire Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: October 2026 Duration: Ongoing Prospero Teaching is seeking a motivated Secondary Maths and Science Tutor to provide individualised tuition to learners across Halton. This opportunity is suited to an educator with strong subject knowledge who can make learning engaging and help pupils build confidence across core secondary subjects. The Role: Deliver 1:1 tuition in Mathematics and Science at KS3 and, where appropriate, GCSE level. Reinforce key concepts and address gaps in subject knowledge. Develop personalised learning plans based on pupil needs. Support preparation for assessments and examinations. Adapt resources and teaching methods to suit individual learning styles. Monitor progress and encourage independent learning. Experience, Training and Qualifications: QTS, PGCE or an equivalent relevant teaching qualification is desirable. Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and Science. Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged pupils. Experience supporting learners with additional educational needs is advantageous. A patient, flexible and engaging approach to teaching. To be eligible for this role, the tutor must: Hold the right to work in the UK. Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one. Provide two professional references, including child-related references.
