English and Maths Tutor - Halton Location: Halton, Cheshire Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: October 2026 Duration: Ongoing Prospero Teaching is looking for a versatile English and Maths Tutor to deliver tailored 1:1 tuition to learners across Halton. The successful candidate will help pupils improve their core academic skills, address gaps in learning and rebuild confidence through engaging, personalised sessions. The Role: Deliver individualised tuition in English and Mathematics. Strengthen literacy, numeracy, comprehension and problem-solving skills. Plan lessons around each learners needs, abilities and targets. Identify areas requiring additional support and provide targeted intervention. Engage learners who may have experienced disrupted education. Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies where necessary. Experience, Training and Qualifications: QTS, PGCE or an equivalent relevant teaching qualification is desirable. Good subject knowledge in English and Mathematics. Experience teaching or tutoring school-aged learners. Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs is advantageous. Strong communication skills and a learner-centred approach. To be eligible for this role, the tutor must: Hold the right to work in the UK. Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
