We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to work within welcoming and supportive primary schools across Halifax. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the classroom and supporting children throughout their educational journey.
The Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. You will help create an engaging learning environment, provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, and encourage students to develop both academically and socially.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.
- Assisting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Helping to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Supporting children with additional learning needs where required.
- Preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
- Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervising children during lessons, break times and school activities.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or support setting is desirable.
- A passion for education and supporting children's development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring and proactive approach.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
