We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join a welcoming nursery setting in Wotton-under-Edge on a full-time maternity cover basis. Your Responsibilities:
- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Lead, motivate, and develop staff to maintain high standards of care and education
- Ensure the nursery operates in line with EYFS requirements and nursery policies
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals
- Support staff with observations, assessments, and planning
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are adhered to at all times
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (minimum requirement)
- Previous experience in a senior nursery role, such as Room Leader or Deputy Manager
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A proactive, nurturing, and professional approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
