We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join a welcoming nursery setting in Wotton-under-Edge on a full-time maternity cover basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner with leadership experience who is committed to delivering outstanding care and education for young children.

Your Responsibilities:



  • Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery

  • Lead, motivate, and develop staff to maintain high standards of care and education

  • Ensure the nursery operates in line with EYFS requirements and nursery policies

  • Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for all children

  • Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and external professionals

  • Support staff with observations, assessments, and planning

  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence

  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are adhered to at all times


Requirements:



  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (minimum requirement)

  • Previous experience in a senior nursery role, such as Room Leader or Deputy Manager

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • A proactive, nurturing, and professional approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Right to work in the UK
