This role is based in SP8 GILLINGHAM, but we also have multiple roles available across Dorset.
As a SEN Tutor, you will:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Record student progress and report on this weekly.
- Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
- Record attendance.
- Be organised, dependable and creative.
- Be calm, fair and adaptable.
About you:
- Experience working with young people in UK schools.
- Background in SEN education or alternative provision - desirable but not essential.
- Confident delivering Maths and English.
- Empathetic, reliable, and calm under pressure.
- Able to build trusting relationships and foster a love of learning.
- Experience of working with young people with SEMH needs.

Hours - 15 Hours per week - for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time.
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools - ESSENTIAL.
- Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs.
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
- Provide references upon request.
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this).
