This role is based in SP8 GILLINGHAM, but we also have multiple roles available across Dorset.

As a SEN Tutor, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Record student progress and report on this weekly.
  • Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
  • Record attendance.
  • Be organised, dependable and creative.
  • Be calm, fair and adaptable.

About you:

  • Experience working with young people in UK schools.
  • Background in SEN education or alternative provision - desirable but not essential.
  • Confident delivering Maths and English.
  • Empathetic, reliable, and calm under pressure.
  • Able to build trusting relationships and foster a love of learning.
  • Experience of working with young people with SEMH needs.

Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both

Hours - 15 Hours per week - for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools - ESSENTIAL.
  • Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide references upon request.
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this).
