Are you a qualified teacher looking for flexible afterschool hours? Prospero Teaching is currently seeking dedicated and passionate tutors to deliver tailored 1:1 support in GCSE English, Maths, or Science to students who currently require additional support after school. This role is ideal for a full-time classroom teacher who is looking to take on additional hours in the evenings or afternoons, offering more personalised learning outside the traditional classroom environment. You'll be working with students who may have experienced disruption in their education and require patient, engaging, and structured tuition to help them re-engage and achieve key academic milestones.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver bespoke, engaging 1:1 lessons in English, Maths or Science
- Plan and tailor content to address individual learning gaps
- Help build students' confidence and motivation through consistent and supportive teaching
- Work with Prospero's team to monitor and report on progress
ROLE DETAILS
- Location: Bromley and surrounding areas
- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Type: Part-time (typically afterschool hours)
- Pay: £25-£30 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Duration: Varies by student; usually a minimum of 6-12 weeks
- Hours: 1-3 hours per session, typically between 3:30-7:00pm
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE
- UK QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 6 months of recent teaching experience in a UK school
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more core GCSE subjects (Maths, English, or Science)
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- A child-only enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
- The right to work in the UK
