The Role

  • Deliver Functional Skills English and/or Maths at Entry Level to Level 2
  • Provide 1:1 or small group tuition, often to learners who require additional support
  • Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Track progress and provide regular feedback
  • Work in a variety of settings, including schools, alternative provisions, or community venues

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and/or Maths
  • A recognised teaching or tutoring qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent preferred)
  • Experience working with SEN learners, disengaged students, or alternative provision (desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and a flexible, learner-centred approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
