Job Opportunity: Functional English and Maths Teacher – KS3 & KS4 – Full-Time – Secondary School – Start ASAP

A forward-thinking secondary school is seeking a committed and adaptable Functional Skills Teacher to deliver English and Maths to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 . This is a full-time role , starting as soon as possible , focused on supporting learners who benefit from a practical, skills-based approach to core subjects.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Functional Skills lessons in English and Maths, tailored to meet the needs of students who may be working below age-related expectations or preparing for alternative qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Functional English and Maths to KS3 and KS4 students
  • Differentiate lessons to support a range of learning needs, including SEND
  • Track student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and curriculum leads
  • Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching English and/or Maths at secondary level
  • Knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
