Job description

Prospero Teaching are currently on the lookout for Food and Nutrition graduates with a keen interest in education to join a secondary school in Kensington and Chelsea. Specifically, we’re seeking individuals who have excelled in Food and Nutrition at both GCSE and A-level, and who hold a degree in a Food and Nutrition related field.

As a Food and Nutrition technician, you will be working in a secondary school environment with 11 – 16-year-olds who require continuity, positive role models, patience and understanding.

WHAT DOES THE FOOD AND NUTRITION GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT ROLE INVOLVE:
* Supporting the class teacher and students during lessons.
* Procurement of, setting up and maintaining a wide range of equipment.
* Keeping up to date with current guidance to ensure a safe working environment.
* Organisation and preparation of ingredients for use by students or teachers in lessons.

WHAT SUPPORT WILL I BE GIVEN AS A FOOD AND NUTRITION GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT?
* You’ll be given training, guidance and support by an experienced consultant at Prospero and our Training and Development Team (all experienced teachers) as well as from the school themselves.
* A programme of FREE Training and CPD sessions are also offered.

School support:
* You will be provided with resources and strategies to support learners, behaviour management training, group and 1:1 training from qualified, experienced passionate staff.

FOOD AND NUTRITION GRADUATE TEACHING ASSISTANT:

  • Full-time school hours, 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
  • The role is paid weekly at a daily rate of £125 per day and can become a permanent post in the future.
