Prospero Teaching is proud to be working with a dedicated special school in Fareham, who are seeking a committed Specialist Intervention & Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026. This role sits within the school's specialist provision, supporting students aged 7-16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and associated complex challenges. It's a chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who need a safe, supportive environment to thrive.
About the Provision
This unique programme helps students reconnect with learning through a child‑centred approach built on trust, relationships, and personal growth. It offers an alternative to mainstream education, creating a space where pupils feel valued, understood, and encouraged to succeed. We welcome applications from experienced LSAs/TAs, as well as those with backgrounds in psychology, therapeutic support, coaching, or life skills development. Prior experience working 1:1 with pupils is highly desirable.
About the Role
- Location: Fareham
- Start Date: January 2026
- Contract Type: Full‑time
- Pay Rate: £23,000 – £28,000 per annum
- Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (subject to variation)

- Has experience working 1:1 with pupils, supporting both academic and personal development
- Brings knowledge from psychology, therapy, coaching, or life skills training to enrich student support
- Is passionate about helping young people rebuild trust in adults and education
- Thrives on building meaningful relationships with pupils who may have disengaged from traditional schooling
- Is flexible, proactive, and ready to provide personalised support when needed
- Understands safeguarding and promotes a safe, inclusive learning environment
