A well-established and thriving secondary school in Thurrock is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Exams Officer to join its dedicated support staff team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced exams professional or an administrator looking to develop their career within a busy school environment.
As Exams Officer, you will play a vital role in the planning, administration and delivery of all internal and external examinations, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations and maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the administration and organisation of all public and internal examinations.
- Liaise with examination boards and ensure compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.
- Prepare examination timetables, rooming plans and seating arrangements.
- Recruit, train and manage a team of invigilators.
- Process examination entries, amendments and results.
- Coordinate access arrangements and liaise with the SEND department.
- Maintain accurate examination records and candidate data.
- Support students and staff with examination-related queries.
- Ensure the secure handling and storage of examination materials.
- The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working as an Exams Officer or within a school administration environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure during peak examination periods.
- Good knowledge of JCQ regulations and examination procedures (desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management systems.
- A professional, confidential and proactive approach to work.
