Prospero Teaching is looking for a skilled and passionate EHCP Writer to support a local authority in the North West of England. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by shaping the future support of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality, legally compliant EHCPs based on assessments and professional input.
  • Work closely with schools, local authorities, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure all perspectives are included.
  • Ensure EHCPs are accurate, person-centred, and completed within statutory deadlines.
  • Analyse specialist reports, educational data, and recommendations to inform EHCP content.
  • Deliver clear, structured, and accessible written plans that make a meaningful difference.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in EHCP writing or working within an SEND team.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Excellent report-writing and organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience working in local authority, education, or healthcare settings.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Background in SEND education, speech and language therapy, educational psychology, or social work (highly desirable).
  • Experience in case management, assessments, or legal frameworks relating to SEND.
