How to prepare for a job interview at Prospero Teaching

✨Know Your Subjects Inside Out

Make sure you brush up on the key concepts and topics within your STEM subject area. Be prepared to discuss how you would approach teaching these subjects, especially at A-Level. This shows your passion and expertise, which is crucial for a teaching role.

✨Showcase Your Classroom Management Skills

Even if you’re applying for a non-qualified role, demonstrating strong behaviour management strategies is essential. Think of examples from your past experiences where you successfully managed a classroom or handled challenging situations. This will give the interviewers confidence in your ability to maintain a positive learning environment.

✨Prepare for Scenario Questions

Expect to be asked how you would handle specific classroom scenarios. Practice responses to questions like 'What would you do if a student was disruptive?' or 'How would you engage students who are struggling with the material?' This preparation will help you articulate your thought process clearly during the interview.

✨Ask Insightful Questions

At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask questions that show your interest in the role and the school. Inquire about the support available for teachers, opportunities for professional development, or how they foster a collaborative environment. This not only demonstrates your enthusiasm but also helps you gauge if the school is the right fit for you.
