We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist school. This role involves working closely with students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting their academic, social, and emotional development in a structured and nurturing environment.
You will play a key role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in young people's lives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of SEN, including autism (ASC), ADHD, and learning difficulties.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and adapting materials to meet individual needs.
- Support students with emotional regulation and behavioural challenges using positive strategies.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction among students.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Assist with personal care where required (training provided if necessary).
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential).
