The Role As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs, abilities and developmental stages of your pupils. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team to ensure pupils receive the appropriate academic, emotional and behavioural support. You will play a key role in creating a structured, nurturing classroom environment that encourages pupils to develop their confidence, independence, communication and life skills. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with additional needs. Adapt teaching methods and resources to accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities. Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development. Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and other professionals to deliver individualised support. Monitor pupil progress and contribute to personalised learning plans and targets. Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and an inclusive classroom environment. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and learning. The Ideal Candidate Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Has experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ideally within a specialist setting. Demonstrates patience, resilience and a flexible approach to teaching. Is confident differentiating lessons to meet a wide range of individual needs. Has strong communication and behaviour management skills.
