ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a qualified teacher to provide 1:1 tuition in English and Maths up to GCSE level for young people in Barking and Dagenham. Many of these students attend school during the day but require additional support after school hours, typically for 1-2 hours per session. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who is passionate about helping students close gaps in learning and build confidence. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet individual needs and boost engagement and attainment. Some students may have experienced disrupted education or complex challenges, so the ability to adapt your approach and provide supportive, structured learning is essential.

- Location: Barking and Dagenham

- Duration: Ongoing, based on student needs

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent
- Experience teaching English and Maths up to GCSE level
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in a UK school
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
- Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
