Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for a qualified SEN Science Teacher to join an SEN school in Croydon, South London.
Location: Croydon, South London
Full-Time: 5 days per week
Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm, plus parent evenings
Salary: Teacher salaries are determined by the national pay scales

Role Overview: As an SEN Science Teacher for secondary pupils (Year 7 to Year 11), you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Science lessons, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, at Functional Skills and GCSE levels. Your lessons will be tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other related challenges. You will adapt teaching methods and materials to suit individual learning styles while fostering a supportive classroom environment. Encouraging students’ curiosity, participation, and progress in Science will be a key focus.
Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
- QTS or equivalent
- Experience teaching Science to secondary SEN students
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (issued in the last year)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years
