Overview

Are you passionate, compassionate, and patient, with a desire to make a difference in the lives of students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs? We are working with a fantastic, inclusive specialist provision in Leeds that supports pupils with a range of complex physical, sensory, medical, communication, and learning needs. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to help pupils access education in a safe, calm, and nurturing environment, promoting their dignity, wellbeing, and inclusion. You will work closely with a dedicated team to support the students' development, learning, and personal care.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
  • Assist with personal care, feeding, hygiene, and mobility, including moving and handling (training provided).
  • Support sensory-based learning and communication, using tools such as Makaton, PECS, or other communication systems.
  • Work with teachers, therapists, and care staff to implement Education, Health.
