A supportive all-through alternative provision academy in North West London is seeking an experienced and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated inclusion team. This role involves working with pupils aged 5-16 who require personalised support, smaller class environments and a therapeutic, relationship-based approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN, including SEMH needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils re-engage with learning
- Support behaviour strategies and personalised learning plans
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, structured and nurturing classroom environment
Requirements - Experience Essential
- Previous experience working with SEN or SEMH pupils is essential
- Strong behaviour-management skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient and consistent
- A passion for helping young people overcome barriers
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
