Prospero Teaching are currently seeking Graduates who are interested in becoming Teaching Assistants to work at a vibrant and friendly secondary school.
Location and start: South East London, ASAP start
Post Information: The Teaching Assistant post involves supporting within classrooms in partner Schools across South East London. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, dedicated, a good role model, and passionate about building rapport with students.
Hours: Hours of employment: 8am – 3pm, Monday – Friday, full-time ideally.
Eligibility: You will need eligibility to work in the UK and be willing to apply for DBS disclosure.
Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher and students during lessons.
- Provide 1:1 support and work with intervention groups.
- Collaborate with other departments as required.
- Deliver lessons across Year Groups KS3, KS4; KS5 experience is preferable but not essential.
Purpose of the role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will be exposed to students of various abilities. You will analyse data and develop skills to raise attainment through numeracy and literacy tasks, lesson plans, and monitoring data. You will learn and implement strategies to support students’ engagement with the curriculum.
Support for new staff: As a new member of staff, you will receive an induction by Prospero and be allocated a line manager at the school, typically the Higher Learning Teaching Assistant and SENCO. You will also be supported by Prospero. Regular meetings and CPD training sessions are provided by Prospero and the school to support your learning and development. Resources at the school are well resourced with a supportive team.
