About the Role: Prospero Teaching is seeking a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) TA who has a patient and calm personality to join a secondary school in Wigan starting as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will have dedication for going above and beyond for a child who presents SEN difficulties and challenging behaviour. This role provides an opportunity to make a real difference in a child's life by providing dedicated support and encouragement.
Location: Wigan, WN1
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Long-term
Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a child with SEN difficulties and challenging behaviour, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support classroom teachers with daily activities and help maintain a stimulating classroom atmosphere.
- Encourage student independence and self-confidence.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEND pupils.
- Experience working within a school or similar setting.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
- Ability to provide two professional references.
