Secondary QTS Tutor - Chester-Le-Street Are you a nurturing, patient, and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting students who are disengaged from mainstream education Prospero Teaching are seeking dedicated QTS Tutors, or Teachers with Qualified Teacher Status, to support disengaged students in the Chester-le-Street area. These young people are not currently accessing mainstream education due to SEND, SEMH, permanent exclusion, and various other barriers. We are looking for Specialist QTS Tutors to work with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, covering Maths, English, and Functional Skills. You will provide a safe, encouraging, and empowering learning environment that helps young people rebuild confidence and re-engage with their education. Contract/Position Details: · Location - Chester-Le-Street · Position - SEND Specialist Tutor · Type of work - Contract · Start date - ASAP · Setting - either within the student's home or in the community (learning hub/library) · Duration - Until the pupil is able to find a suitable school placement · Contract type - Temporary · Full-time/part-time availability, ranging from 6-15hours p/w per student · Rate of pay - up to £30 per hour (negotiable) Your role with us: · Support students with SEND through individual and small group sessions, developing self-confidence, independence, practical life skills, community awareness, and basic food preparation. · Plan and deliver bespoke learning activities that meet individual needs and close gaps in learning. · Assess and review learner progress on an ongoing basis, sharing clear and constructive feedback with students and their families. · Establish a calm, positive, and inclusive learning space that encourages engagement and restores confidence in education. · Record daily attendance accurately and complete structured weekly reports in line with requirements.
