Prospero Teaching is looking for a qualified and experienced tutor based in the Chester-le-Street area to provide 1:1 tuition in high-level Maths for a KS4 student with ASD. As a Prospero tutor, you will deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions designed around the individual needs, learning style and academic goals of the student. You will support the learner to develop their mathematical understanding, build confidence, and make progress towards their GCSE qualifications.

The successful tutor will be able to provide challenging and engaging Maths tuition, while adapting their teaching approach to meet the needs of a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Experience of supporting students with ASD and/or SEN is highly desirable.

POSITION DETAILS

  • Location - Chester-Le-Street (within the community or student's home)
  • Position - KS4 Maths Tutor
  • Subject - High-Level Maths - GCSE (Predicted grade 7-8)
  • Start date - September 2026 (ASAP)
  • Duration / Likely Duration - Ongoing
  • Full time/part time - Part time
  • Hours - 4 hours per week
  • Rate of pay - Up to Β£30 per hour

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • QTS, QTLS or HLTA qualification, or relevant teaching/tutoring experience
  • Strong subject knowledge in KS4 Maths
  • Experience working with students in a UK school or educational setting
  • Experience supporting students with ASD/SEN is highly desirable

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
