A well-established Further Education College in the Chelmsford area is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Lecturer in Foundation Provision to join their dedicated SEN Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality teaching for Foundation Learning/SEN groups
- Create differentiated learning materials tailored to a range of additional needs
- Support learners in developing independence, communication, and functional skills
- Work collaboratively with LSAs, support teams, and external professionals
- Contribute to EHCP reviews and maintain accurate learner progress records
- Provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing within the classroom
Requirements
- Experience teaching or supporting learners with SEN (preferably in FE or Post-16 settings)
- A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Strong understanding of Entry Level curriculum, life skills, and inclusive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and motivate learners
- Patience, empathy, and a learner-centred approach
