Prospero Teaching are looking for a Qualified Teacher to support a Year 9 student with SEN in the Catterick area. We are looking for experienced Qualified Teachers or Tutors who have previously supported students with SEN, and are able to provide a safe, supportive learning environment to a student disengaged from mainstream education.
The Opportunity
Working as a 2:1 alongside a SEN TA, you will be creating, planning and delivering lessons that are tailored to the student, teaching literacy, numeracy and supporting with life skills including confidence building and supporting their Special Educational Needs. This particular student has SEN needs including Cerebral Palsy, ASD, Epilepsy, Dystonia and Anxiety disorder. With this in mind, the successful Tutor will have a varied skillset across complex SEN to be able to fully support this student. One of your aims will be to support the pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine and continue their educational development within the home and to build the student's confidence to later access the community. Prospero will work with you closely to monitor the progression of this student by asking you to submit weekly reports.

Experience, Training and Qualifications of the SEND Specialist Tutor:
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Possess UK classroom teaching experience
- Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
- Have experience working with students with SEND including ASD, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy and Anxiety disorder
To be eligible for this role, the potential SEND Specialist Tutor must:
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold a valid UK driving license
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment
