We are currently seeking a patient and nurturing 1:1 tutor to support a young learner in the DT5 area with Maths and English. The young person is in Year 2 but currently working at a Year 1 level, and requires a highly personalised, low-pressure approach due to SEMH and additional needs.
About the role
- Deliver 2 hours per week (1 hour Maths, 1 hour English)
- Sessions to take place in the afternoon, following school attendance in the morning
- Potential to increase hours over time, depending on engagement
- Focus on building confidence, engagement, and emotional regulation alongside learning
- Support a young person who is not yet able to access a full school day
The ideal tutor will
- Have at least 6 months' experience within a UK education setting
- Have experience (or strong understanding) of SEMH needs
- Be confident delivering KS1 Maths and English (around Year 1 level)
- Be patient, adaptable, and nurturing, able to adjust sessions based on emotional readiness
- Focus on relationship building and engagement before academic demand
