Role Overview
You will join our KS1 team as a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, supporting class teachers and working closely with children in Year 1 and Year 2. Your role will involve both whole-class support and targeted small-group or one-to-one interventions to help children make excellent progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons in KS1.
- Work individually or with small groups of children to reinforce learning and build confidence.
- Support positive behaviour and contribute to a positive classroom culture of respect and motivation.
- Monitor pupil progress, provide feedback, and alert the teacher to any concerns or opportunities.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents and carers as needed to support pupil development.
Person Specification - Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children in a Key Stage 1 (or similar) setting.
- A recognised Level 2 TA qualification (or equivalent) - or a strong willingness to obtain one.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
- A clear understanding of how children learn in KS1 and strategies to support that learning effectively.
- A positive, flexible attitude and a commitment to our school's core values of respect, resilience, independence and motivation.
- Ability to work as part of a supportive team and contribute to a reflective school culture.
