Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Outreach Tutor to provide bespoke 1:1 tuition to young people in Buckinghamshire who are currently not attending mainstream education. This role focuses on supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, helping them re-engage with learning and build confidence in GCSE English, Maths, and potentially Science.
As an Outreach Tutor, you will design and deliver tailored lessons that address gaps in knowledge and promote academic progress. This is an ideal opportunity for a qualified teacher (QTS, PGCE) who is passionate about making a difference outside the traditional classroom setting. Many of the pupils youβll work with may have experienced disrupted education and low self-esteem. Your role will be to provide structure, encouragement, and a positive learning experience that helps them thrive.
Prospero Teaching will support you throughout the placement, ensuring effective learning and progress tracking for each pupil.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months experience teaching in UK schools
- Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
- Provide two professional references covering the last two years
