Are you a passionate and nurturing teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently working with a highly supportive SEND school seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils who require a personalised approach to learning, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and academically within a safe and nurturing environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating positive learning experiences for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing.
- Develop positive relationships with pupils, families, and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and social skills.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and nurture principles throughout the school day.
- Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching approaches where required.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and senior leaders.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Has experience working within SEND, Alternative Provision, specialist settings, or mainstream education with additional needs.
- Demonstrates a nurturing and trauma-informed approach to teaching.
- Has strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
- Is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
- Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
