Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced, compassionate, and dedicated SEN 1:1 Early Years Educators to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across a variety of nurseries and Early Years settings in Bristol.

CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS

  • Location: Bristol
  • Position: SEN 1:1 Early Years Educator (Supply)
  • Pay: £15-£17 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • Hours: Flexible - Full Days, AM Shifts, and PM Shifts
  • Contract Types: Ad-hoc, Short-Term, Long-Term, and Temp-to-Perm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 3 Early Years / Childcare Qualification (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND within a nursery, Early Years, education, or care setting
  • Sound understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development
  • Knowledge of additional needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech and Language Needs, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Experience implementing personalised support strategies and adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursery teams, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals
  • A caring, patient, nurturing, and resilient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships and promote children's confidence, independence, and wellbeing

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • SEND-specific training (e.g., Autism Awareness, Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, Attention Autism, Sensory Processing)
  • Safeguarding Training
  • Experience working on a 1:1 basis with children who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

Training can be provided where required.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Child Barred List Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Provide two childcare or education-related professional references covering the last two years
  • Be able to demonstrate previous experience supporting children with SEND
