As a Sports Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging theory-based lessons that develop student's understanding of anatomy, physiology, bio mechanics, psychology, and training principles. You will support learners in applying scientific concepts to sport and physical performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Sports Science / PE theory lessons
- Teach topics such as anatomy and physiology, fitness testing, and sports psychology
- Support GCSE PE and A-Level / BTEC Sport qualifications
- Assess, track, and report on student progress
- Develop student's analytical and research skills in sport
- Contribute to curriculum planning within PE and Sport departments
- Support enrichment activities, workshops, and sports-related events
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (desirable but not always essential for post-16)
- Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or related subject
- Strong subject knowledge in sport and exercise science
- Ability to deliver engaging, academically focused lessons
- Good communication and classroom management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and student well being
- Willingness to contribute to wider school and sixth form life
