Prospero Teaching is working with a specialist Independent SEN School in Poole to recruit dedicated Teaching Assistants who will support pupils with SEN, including ASc & SEMH.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to pupils with SEN, encouraging and building trusting relationships.
- Use calming mannerisms in challenging situations and strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
- Motivate pupils to increase participation and personal development.
- Demonstrate caring, patient, and good communication skills.
- Be self-reflective, willing to learn, and demonstrate initiative.
Requirements
- Minimum rate of pay from £17,500 per annum.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to process a new application.
- Provide two professional child-related references.
- Experience supporting an individual with Autism.
- Experience with autistic children and those with social communication difficulties is an advantage.
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
- Ability to communicate in a manner that encourages and supports pupils, enabling the building of trusting relationships.
- Willingness to complete safeguarding online training.
- Willingness to complete face-to-face training over video call.
