We are currently supporting a dedicated Primary SEMH School in Bournemouth that is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Learning Mentor (PE) with a strong background in PE and Sport. The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, focusing on helping every child build confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

In this role, you will work closely with pupils across the primary age range, using physical education and sport as a vehicle to inspire engagement, develop emotional regulation, and promote healthy wellbeing. You will support individual learners and small groups, helping them access learning, build social skills, and overcome barriers to progress. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about SEMH education, behaviour support, and sport-led interventions.

CONTRACT DETAILS:

  • Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
  • Position: Learning Mentor (PE)
  • Specialism: PE, Sport, Behaviour Support
  • Start date: January 2025 (or sooner if available)
  • Duration: Temporary with potential for a permanent role
  • Contract type: Full time
  • Hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, plus meetings and training as required
  • Pay: From GBP163.00 per day (or equivalent depending on experience)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with children or young people (school or community setting)
  • Background in PE, Sport, Coaching or Behaviour Support
  • Experience working with SEMH needs (desirable)
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training (within the last year)
  • Relevant mentoring, coaching or TA qualifications (advantageous)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:

  • Have Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Provide two professional references related to working with children
