Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an excellent candidate for an outdoor TA role in an SEMH Secondary School in Preston. This is an SEN role, and the students may present with ADHD, Autism, emotional regulation difficulties, and some will come from traumatic backgrounds. You must have an understanding around SEN, and be willing to engage with and support challenging students to break down barriers. You will be working 1 to 1 with complex young people, and you must be comfortable with challenging behaviour. Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN. Patience is important, and some of these students may struggle with problem solving. The ideal candidate will have a background involving young people with additional needs, and although experience in the classroom is not mandatory, you must have relevant experience.
No 2 days will be the same in this role, and you will be supporting young people in a mixture of on and off site activities. You will be expected to engage with the students, and to help engage them.

Experience, Training and Qualifications:
- Up to date Safeguarding training in the last year (can be provided if needed)
- Previous experience with Team Teach training, or willing to be trained in it
- Previous experience working within outdoor education is desired
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide professional references covering 2 years
