A mainstream primary school in Oldham (BL3) is seeking a confident, adaptable and resilient Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Year 6 class, including children with a range of additional, behavioural and learning needs. This role focuses on helping pupils manage the academic demands of their final year in primary school while supporting emotional wellbeing, behaviour and preparation for transition to secondary education.

The Role Will Include:

  • Supporting pupils in a Year 6 classroom, including those with varying additional needs
  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small group support, particularly in core subjects
  • Supporting pupils with behaviour, anxiety, focus and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement individual strategies
  • Encouraging independence, resilience and responsibility
  • Supporting pupils with transition readiness and confidence building

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with upper KS2 pupils, ideally Year 6
