Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Blyth on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. All Subject specialisms will be considered.
About the Role:
- The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.
- Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have SEMH of varying levels as well as challenging behaviour.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- The role will involve managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
- Differentiating lessons appropriately to engage pupils and to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
- Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
- Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
- Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.
About the School:
The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Blyth. The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range who have SEMH and challenging behaviour.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
- Pay – Between £130-200 per day.
- Hours – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.
- Start Date – ASAP.
- Location – Blyth.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
- QTS and Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
- Strong Behaviour Management skills.
- Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress.
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport.
- A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work.
- A genuine passion for Teaching and building relationships with pupils who face barriers to learning.
- Strong organisation and communication skills.
