Are you confident, organised, and passionate about working with young people? We are seeking a proactive and dependable Cover Supervisor to join our vibrant secondary school and play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged, on task, and well-behaved. All lesson materials and instructions are provided – your focus is to manage the classroom environment and maintain continuity of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences
  • Ensure students follow the set work and stay focused
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress or concerns
  • Support the wider school team when cover is not required (admin or pastoral support)

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with young people (in a school, youth work, tutoring, or similar)
  • Can manage classroom behaviour calmly and effectively
  • Is flexible, professional, and able to use their initiative
  • Is enthusiastic about education and supporting students to succeed
  • Has GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; further qualifications or training are desirable
