How to prepare for a job interview at Prospero Teaching

✨Know Your Stuff

Make sure you’re familiar with the job description and the specific needs of the pupils you'll be working with. Brush up on your lesson planning skills and think about how you can tailor your approach to reengage students who have been out of education for a while.

✨Show Empathy and Understanding

During the interview, highlight your experience with students who may have low confidence. Share examples of how you've successfully built rapport and created a supportive learning environment in the past. This will show that you understand the challenges these pupils face.

✨Prepare Questions

Have a few thoughtful questions ready to ask the interviewer. Inquire about the types of educational packages they offer and how they support tutors in monitoring pupil progress. This shows your genuine interest in the role and helps you gauge if it’s the right fit for you.

✨Be Flexible and Adaptable

Emphasise your ability to adapt your teaching style to meet the individual needs of each student. Discuss any previous experiences where you had to modify your approach on the fly, as this is crucial for an Outreach Tutor working with diverse learners.
