Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Qualified English Teacher to work on an ongoing basis at a secondary school in the Basingstoke area. This role offers stability and consistency for a teacher looking for a long-term position teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging English Language and Literature lessons, supporting pupils' progress, and contributing to a well-structured and supportive English department. The Role:
- Teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 & KS4
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons
- Complete marking, assessment, and feedback in line with school policies
- Support pupils of varying abilities to achieve progress
- Maintain strong behaviour management and high expectations
- Contribute to department planning and collaboration
- Create an inclusive, well-managed classroom environment
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) - essential
- Strong subject knowledge in English
- Experience teaching at secondary level (KS3-KS4)
- Confident delivering GCSE English (any exam board)
- Organised, reliable, and proactive
- Passionate about literacy, language, and pupil development
- Suitable for experienced teachers or ECTs
