We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Level 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil at a welcoming primary school in Barnsley. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the child access learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil during lessons and school activities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning opportunities
- Support the child's academic, social and emotional development
- Help manage behaviour positively and encourage independence
- Adapt resources and activities to meet the pupil's individual needs
- Build positive relationships with parents, staff and external professionals
- Support the pupil during breaktimes, lunchtimes or transitions where required
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 1
- A patient, nurturing and positive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An understanding of supporting children with additional needs/SEND (desirable)
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm
Contract: Long-term
