Prospero Teaching are partnered with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK. We provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with SEND.

We are currently looking for a Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent to provide KS1-KS4 Maths and English support on a 1:1 basis for students who are not currently accessing mainstream education. The students have a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD. As they have been out of education for some time, they require support with their core subjects, Maths and English, working at a lower level. The tutor will need to assess their current ability and reintroduce education into their routine whilst a suitable school provision is found. Lessons will take place either in a local library or the young person's home.

Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must hold QTS and have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Position Details:

  • Position: KS1- KS4 Tutor
  • Hours: 10-15 hours a week (during the school day)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
  • UK classroom teaching experience
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box

To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 SEN Outreach Tutor must:

  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references.
