Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Class Teacher to work in one of our inspirational SEND Schools in Ashington on a full-time and long-term basis to start ASAP. Applications from ECTs are welcome and there will be opportunities for part of the ECT qualification to be completed whilst in the role. The School supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary age range.
About the Role:
- The role will involve planning and delivering lessons to small classes of pupils with a wide range of SEND and challenging behaviour, including Severe Learning Difficulties, ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
- Some pupils may be none-verbal or pre-verbal, so the relationship-building skills and resilience of the successful candidate will be key.
- Stretching and challenging the learning and progress of all pupils.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- A key part of the role will be to differentiate lessons appropriately and work effectively alongside other members of staff to ensure all pupils are able to make progress and are taught in a way that is suited to their individual needs and learning styles.

The role is based in an inspirational SEND School in Ashington. The School supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary School age-range with a range of SEND such as SLD, ASD, ADHD and SEMH. The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
- Pay β Between Β£130-180 per day
- Hours β Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026.
- Contract β Temporary Contract.
- Start Date β September 2025
- Location β Ashington
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
- QTS and Primary School Teaching experience within the UK.
- Experience of short, medium and long-term planning.
- Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport.
- A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work.
- Strong organisation and communication skills.
