ASD Mentor Support Autistic Learners Through Meaningful 1:1 Mentoring We're looking for an ASD Mentor to support children and young people across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 mentoring. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who require additional support to engage with education, develop confidence, build independence, and achieve positive outcomes. Many of the young people we work with benefit from consistent, relationship-led support from a trusted adult who understands their individual needs and strengths. We're particularly interested in mentors who can support learners in: Crawley Worthing Horsham Chichester Bognor Regis LittlehamptonLocation: West Sussex Role: ASD Mentor Start Date: September Hours: Flexible Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour Type: 1:1 Mentoring Requirements Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including mentoring, teaching, tutoring, learning support, teaching assistant, youth work, or similar roles Experience supporting children and young people with ASD Understanding of autism-friendly and relationship-based approaches Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patient, calm, and adaptable approach Ability to build positive and trusting relationships Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex Who You'll Support You'll work with children and young people who may have: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ADHD Anxiety and school avoidance Communication and interaction needs EHCPs and additional educational needsYour role will focus on helping learners increase confidence, develop social and emotional skills, improve engagement, and achieve personalised goals.
