Are you looking for a new learning support assistant opportunity? If so, we want to hear from you! We are recruiting on behalf of secondary schools looking for LSAs in Newcastle to work support pupils across KS3, KS4 and KS5 settings. Your role will be focused on identifying where the pupils are struggling and providing specific tailored training and support ensuring they have the tools and encouragement to succeed.

About the role:

  • Supporting students and pupils aged 11-19 across all year groups, depending on preference and specialism.
  • Provide effective learning methods and support pupils on a 1:1 basis, providing the tools and knowledge for the pupil to succeed.
  • Support students within a small group, typically between 3-5 pupils.
  • Maintain accurate records tracking the progress of the pupil's breakthroughs and accomplishments and identifying where they may require additional help.

Pay, hours and contract:

  • Pay: Between £15 - £16.50 per hour
  • Hours: 08:30am - 15:30pm, Monday - Friday
  • Contract: Full time, temporary with the potential of going permanent
  • Start date: September 2026
  • Location: Newcastle

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or setting, ideally within a school environment
  • Supporting teacher or child-care related qualification (desired, not a must)
  • Confident working on a 1:1 basis or within a group setting
  • An ability to build healthy relationships with pupils and staff
  • Kind, positive and proactive nature
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Hold an updated DBS certificate on the update service or the willingness to process a new application
  • Professional child or care-related references covering the last two years
